Ajax will take on Real Madrid in the Champions League on Tuesday, with the Dutch side trailing 2-1 on aggregate to the Spanish giants.
Ahead of the match, AjaxTV released a hype video that shows the players receiving messages of support from fans, and leans into the fact that many of the Ajax players have come up through the youth system at the club.
Ajax is leaning into the perceived (if a little unfair) narrative that Real Madrid is a juggernaut who spends millions to make its super team, while little Ajax must develop youth players if they want to hang with the big boys.
Ajax is the biggest club in the Netherlands and spend plenty on players, but not quite like Real Madrid does, so we’ll allow it.
UPDATE: The hype video appears to have worked, as Ajax won the match, 4-1.
