Here is the Chelsea morning digest on Thursday, May 28.
Ajax defender on Blues’ radar
Chelsea have been made aware of a potential reduced fee for Ajax defender Nicolas Tagliafico, according to the Mirror.
The Blues have been heavily linked with numerous left-backs this summer, with Alex Telles and Ben Chilwell also reportedly being watched.
The latest name to be mentioned is Tagliafico, and Ajax chief executive Edwin van der Sar has admitted the Dutch giants may have to sell some of their key players in the summer.
The Mirror is reporting there is an agreement already in place that if someone matches his asking price, which is thought to be around £22m, then the Argentine will be allowed to leave Ajax.
Fenerbahce interested in Batshuayi - report
Turkish club Fenerbahce are interested in Chelsea striker Michy Batshuayi, according to Takvim, via Sport Witness.
Batshuayi has been told by Frank Lampard that he will not be part of his plans next season, the report states.
The Belgian striker’s agent Meissa N’diaye is said to have been in contact with Fenerbahce’s board over a potential move.
Chelsea are believed to be set to accept any reduced fee, which could be as little as €7m for the 26-year-old.
Jorginho’s agent confirms talks elsewhere
Jorginho’s agent has confirmed clubs have contacted him over the Chelsea midfielder.
Juventus have been heavily linked with a move for the Italian midfielder, with former Blues boss Maurizio Sarri said to be keen to team up with the 28-year-old again.
His agent, Joao Santos, has admitted there have been talks held for his client’s signature.
“He is a complete player. He is in the national team and he is the vice-captain of Chelsea. Over time he has gained experience and is now a real leader,” Santos said to Radio Musica Television’s program Taca La Marca, as replayed by Napoli Magazine.
“If you ask me if Sarri likes Jorginho, I will say yes because of their past (association). I can’t say anything about the market, since I had no contact (with Juventus).
“Jorginho still has three years left of contract and is doing well at Chelsea. However, if an important offer arrives, the negotiation could go through. In this sense, two top European clubs, not Italian, have contacted me.”
