Ajax's first-half display at Tottenham leads fans to use the same two words

After beating Real Madrid and Juventus in the previous two rounds, if Ajax were supposed to lie down and let the law of averages dictate their Champions League semi-final against Tottenham then obviously no-one told the players.

In the last four tie that no-one would have predicted, the Dutch side were terrific in the first period at the new Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, dominating play and taking the game to Mauricio Pochettino's side.

Their slick passing and clever movement caught the eye as a Spurs side missing the attacking threats of Harry Kane and Son Heung-min were unable to get much of a foothold in the match.

Ajax's domination then bore fruit 15 minutes into the game when a fine passing move ended with midfielder Donny van de Beek following up the goal he scored in the win at Juventus with another crucial away strike.

It was a goal that showcased everything that is good about this side, and fans watching on were particularly impressed.

It even led many to trot out an old phrase not heard for many a year.

That's right, Total Football! That old phrase taht came to describe the Dutch national team in the 1970s, most notably the 1974 World Cup.

Can Ajax hold on in the second period though?
