Ajax players past and present wish Erik ten Hag good luck at Manchester United in touching video message

Ajax players have thanked outgoing manager Erik ten Hag in a touching video as the Dutchman begins work at Manchester United.

Ten Hag bids farewell to the Dutch giants having led the team to six trophies, including three Eredivise titles, and a Champions League semi-final since being appointed in December 2017.

He took charge of Ajax for the final time at the weekend, overseeing a 2-2 draw with Vitesse, and has wasted no time getting to work for United.

Ten Hag has terminated his Ajax contract six weeks early and skipped the club's end-of-season break to get straight to work at Old Trafford. He could be in the stands on Sunday as United sign off for the season away at Crystal Palace.

Ajax on Sunday posted a tribute video to Ten Hag, with the caption "Thanks for the joy. Thanks for believing in our youth. Thanks for the magical nights. Erik, thanks for the football…", and the players followed suit the following day.

Players past and present, along with staff like Edwin van der Sar, all sent their best to their former head coach and wished him all the best at Old Trafford.

During four-and-a-half years at Ajax, Ten Hag gave a number of players their debuts and blooded exciting talents such as Ryan Gravenberch or Jurrien Timber.
