Ajax are resigned to losing their best players in the summer transfer window.
This has been confirmed by the Dutch outfit's CEO and former Manchester United goalkeeper Edwin van der Sar.
Speaking to Dutch newspaper De Telegraaf in late 2019, van der Sar conceded that it's likely that the club could lose one or to key players this year.
"Next year Ajax will undoubtedly also lose players again," he said.
Such comments are likely to worry Ajax supporters as a repeat of the 2019 summer transfer could be on the cards.
Ajax's success in the Champions League last season came at a huge cost, as they lost two of their most promising players last summer with Frenkie de Jong and Matthijs de Ligt being sold to Barcelona and Juventus respectively
And there's several clubs being linked with a move for Hakim Ziyech once the transfer window reopens.
Chelsea are among those teams reportedly in the race for the Morocco international as ESPN claim the Blues have made the playmaker a priority ahead of the 2020/2021 season as Frank Lampard will be on the lookout for reinforcements in the attacking areas.
But could another Ajax star be heading for Stamford Bridge this summer?
According to Goal, Andre Onana has been identified as a top target.
In addition, the report states that the Blues have started scouting for potential replacements for Kepa Arrizabalaga who is yet to justify his £71m price-tag after joining from Athletic Bilbao in 2018.
Whilst no decision has been made on whether Kepa would be allowed to leave Stamford Bridge this summer, van der Sar's comments about Ajax losing players could be fantastic news for the Blues should they target Onana.
De Jong and de Ligt are just two examples of Ajax not standing in the way of their players should a bigger club make a move.
With that said, the west London are considering a summer move for Burnley goalkeeper Nick Pope, but Lancs Live claim Sean Dyche's side have no interest in parting with their number one.
