AJ Pritchard told to get acting lessons as fans poke fun at his Hollyoaks scenes

Mean Hollyoaks fans had another dig at AJ Pritchard after his appearance on the soap received some bad reviews.

The Strictly dancer, 26, and his Love Island star brother Curtis, 25, have taken on the roles of Marco and Jacob on the series.

But soap fans mocked their "wooden" acting on the C4 show last week.

They took to social media to poke fun at a dance scene, while others said they enjoyed their performance.

Some fans hijacked an Instagram post of a smartly dressed AJ enjoying a posh-looking dinner last night at trendy restaurant The Rooftop.

Although most comments were nice, others may have put him off his grub.

One wrote: "Love your acting in Hollyoaks" following by four laughing emojis.

Another teased: "You are such a good actor teach me!"

The pair hopefully stayed off social media on Thursday as their episode was slammed online.

One wrote: "AJ and Curtis must have been Pinocchio in a past life - because their acting are as wooden as a marionette!"

Another said: "Love AJ but this is cringe".

Not everyone was unimpressed by the siblings on the programme.

One wrote: "Can't stop watching these two on hollyoaks. Perfection" while another said: "Why does everyone hate Curtis and AJ they are so much fun."

AJ quit Strictly Come Dancing last year to pursue other opportunities.

But one former soap star has taken aim at all involved after one of their scenes went viral.

EastEnders star Michael Greco slammed Hollyoaks for casting the brothers.

Michael, who played Beppe DiMarco on EastEnders between 1998 and 2002, came across the video and took to Twitter to share his thoughts.

The star deleted his rant before tweeting again about how 'not' to act.

“I think people can watch this and learn so much from it. How ‘not’ to act. Shocking,” he said.

The Fall actor Gerard McCarthy also criticised their acting abilities.

Gerard retweeted the video and put in his view, writing: "The next time a producer/casting director says the words “but they have a big social media following”…. Just point them in the direction of this absolute car crash!"
