AJ Pritchard's girlfriend Abbie 'not fully recovered' from burns in horror accident

AJ Pritchard's girlfriend Abbie Quinnen says she has still not fully recovered from the second and third degree burns she suffered in a horror accident.

Dancer Abbie, 24, was engulfed in flames when a glass she was using for a TikTok video exploded in January, leaving her needing three skin grafts.

The couple were filming a 'life hack' video - that was intended to show how a glass bottle could be cut in half so it could then be used as a vase - when the accident happened

But the technique – which involved dipping a rope into a flammable chemical, wrapping it around the bottle and lighting a flame – made the glass explode, setting Abbie on fire.

And now, Abbie has taken to Instagram to share an emotional post explaining that she's still not recovered.

"I’m 24 years old and I have to live like this for the rest of my life with these burn scars on my body!" she said.

Sharing photos of her bandages during the healing process, she added: "My scars are something I am proud of and should be more proud of as they show me every day how strong I am!

"It has taken me a long time to accept that, but I think I am getting there!"

Abbie continued by looking at all the positives in her situation: "But I know I haven’t finished my treatments yet, there are other options and most importantly scars don’t define you!

"I would love to say I am fully recovered but unfortunately I’m not and probably never will be as I know I’m going to have lifelong scars!!"

Earlier this year, Abbie was intensive care for five nights as staff attempted to repair her damaged skin following the horror fire.

She was left with third-degree burns all over her face, arm and torso.

She told The Sun at the time: "My face was burning hot, it felt very painful. I was lucky it missed my eye.

In an emotional post she said she'll have 'lifelong scars' (abbiequinnen/Instagram)

"I had massive blisters filled with water on my chest, neck and face and they had to pop them and clean the areas...

"My face swelled up. I couldn’t see out of my right eye.

"Luckily, there were no mirrors in the bathrooms but I kept glimpsing my reflection in my phone screen, it was horrific."

She recently revealed she has to wear a compression vest 23 hours a day.

In a post on Instagram, she shared a picture of her dress and said: "There's only a few things I feel comfortable wearing at the moment and this dress is one of them.

"Definitely am finding it hard to find what to wear at the moment as I have to wear a compression vest 23 hours a day under my clothes and keep my scars out of the sun.

"I'm always panicking about what I'm going to wear before I leave the house so it's always so lovely to get so many compliments from you all about what I'm wearing! Thank you."
