AJ Pritchard looks exhausted as he breaks cover after girlfriend Abbie's horror accident

AJ Pritchard has been seen looking exhausted after the news broke that his girlfriend has suffered a terrifying accident.

The former Strictly Come Dancing professional's partner Abbie Quinnen was left with third degree burns after a social media stunt using a flame went badly wrong.

And the strain of Abbie's accident and ongoing recovery was clear on AJ's face as he stepped out in London this week.

He kept a low-profile and appeared to have the weight of the world on his shoulders during the outing.

AJ, 26, made the most of the warm weather dressed in a light blue t-shirt, which he wore with black shorts.

The TV star teamed the look with a navy baseball cap and carried a beige jacket.

He appeared to be ready to workout as he wore gym trainers with a pair of orange socks.

AJ's outing comes after Abbie thanked her fans for their support after her accident, which happened eight weeks ago.

She wrote on Instagram : "Can't thank you enough for all the lovely messages you guys are sending me, and so many of you have shared your stories with me!

"Thank you so much, hearing your stories gives me so much hope & positivity.

"There is so much love & support out there."

Abbie and AJ had been following a YouTube tutorial on crafting a vase from a glass bottle using a flame when the it went badly wrong.

It involves dipping a rope in a flammable chemical, wrapping it around the bottle and lighting a flame to it.

She had to be rushed to hospital after the incident.

Doctors performed three skin grafts and she had to be wrapped up in bandages.

"Abbie was shocked and in a great deal of pain but AJ sprang into action to put out the fire with a wet tea towel," a source told The Sun.

"He was terrified himself but he did all he could to stop her from burning."

AJ opened up about the terrifying ordeal on AJ vs Curtis, the podcast he does with his brother Curtis Pritchard.

He said: "For anybody that hasn't seen the story yesterday where Abbie had an accident.

"That's why I'm just saying thank you for all the lovely messages, thank you very much for all the love and support and the kind messages.

"I know we haven't replied to everybody. But yeah, thank you for that.

"And we will talk about it further down the line when we both feel comfortable.

"So yeah, just thanks for that love. It means a lot on your support, keeps those positive and keeps us all going."
