AJ Pritchard’s girlfriend has revealed she asked the Strictly Come Dancing star if he still loved her following her horrific fireball accident.

Pro dancer Abbie Quinnen, 23, was left with third-degree burns and needed three skin grafts after trying to split a wine bottle in half with fire in a social media stunt.

Speaking for the first time since the terrifying ordeal, Ms Quinnen revealed that the accident happened as the couple filmed a “lifehack video”.

Ms Quinnen said her hair caught on fire and flames spread across her body as she dropped down to the floor and rolled around to try to put out the fire.

She added that the first thing she said to Mr Pritchard was, “Is my face going to be OK? Are you still going to love me?”

Mr Pritchard’s brother and Love Island star, Curtis, who lives with the couple, drove them to Ealing Hospital after 999 operators said that paramedics could take time to reach their apartment.

“AJ was comforting me — I couldn’t speak as I was in so much shock,” she told the Sun.  “I was shaking, and I just kept asking if he would still love me.”

She added that her face was “burning hot” and she had blisters filled with water on her chest, neck and face.

Ms Quinnen was admitted to intensive care before she was transferred to Chelsea and Westminster Hospital’s specialist burns unit on January 20.

During her time in hospital, Ms Quinnen said she was “adamant” that Mr Pritchard didn’t see her as was she embarrassed about the way she looked.

The dancer spent five days in hospital before being discharged and admitted to being “nervous” about seeing her boyfriend.

Despite her nerves, Ms Quinnen said she felt better once they saw each other.

She said Mr Pritchard helped clean her wounds and change her bandages, adding that the incident brought the couple “closer together”.

“He reassures me constantly and tells me we are together forever — he welcomed me home with balloons,” she told the newspaper.

“I can’t thank him enough. He’s been incredible. He helps me moisturise every day, he washes my silicone pads, used to reduce scarring. I’m so grateful.”

Ms Quinnen and Mr Pritchard have been dating since May 2018 after she met him while working as a dancer on his tour.
