AJ and Curtis Pritchard to join Hollyoaks as twin brothers in first acting role

AJ and Curtis Pritchard are set to join Hollyoaks for their first acting role as twin brothers, it has been reported.

The professional dancers, who first garnered fame on Strictly Come Dancing and Love Island, respectively, are set to appear on screen in the coming weeks.

AJ, 26, and Curtis, 24, will play twin brothers who help open a dance school along with fellow newcomer Trish Minniver, who is played by Denise Welch.

A source told The Sun : "It’s an unlikely move by the brothers but they’re up for trying new things.

“It was an idea mooted a little while ago and both parties seemed keen, so they’ve made it happen.

“AJ and Curtis are thick as thieves, and look identical, so playing a pair of twin brothers will be no issue at all."

They added that the brothers are hoping that their appearance will help show a different side of them that viewers haven't already seen.

AJ confirmed the news to the publication, saying: "I can’t believe we will be featuring on Hollyoaks, we have grown up with the show on TV and it’s always been one of our favourite serial dramas."

The dancer quit Strictly early last year in a bid to pursue new opportunities, one of which included a stint on the first UK-based I'm A Celeb in Castle Gwrych.

AJ finished sixth on the show, which saw Giovanna Fletcher crowned as the Queen of the Castle.

Meanwhile, since leaving Love Island, Curtis has appeared on the Greatest Dancer as a receptionist and, more recently, Celebs Go Dating as he tries to find love. Again.

*Hollyoaks airs weekdays at 6.30pm on Channel 4 and 7pm on E4
