New Middlesbrough boss Jonathan Woodgate has told reporters that he never dreamt of being a manager until he started working with "organised" Aitor Karanka.
The former Real Madrid defender played under the Spaniard for two years at the Riverside as the pair fought for promotion to the Premier League.
Now aged 39, and preparing to take charge for his first season as a first-team boss, Woodgate has worked with Raul, David Beckham, Ronaldo and Luis Figo during his illustrious career.
But it was ex-Nottingham Forest chief Karanka who impressed him enough to change his mind about managment.

"When I was 19, I didn't think about being a coach," said Woodagte upon his unveiling.
"It was with Karanka that I wanted to become a coach because I saw his organisation, his way of working and the structure of his game.
"What have I learned from other managers? Bobby Robson? Man-management. Terry Venables, Harry Redknapp? Man-management. And if you look at the teams I’ve played in they’ve all been quite attacking.
He added: "He [Karanka] had everything coordinated and managed."
