AIS broadcasts 2020 Paralympic Games

The Tokyo 2020 Paralympic Games is the biggest global sporting event for disabled athletes.

AIS Play announced it will broadcast live the Tokyo 2020 Paralympic Games, the biggest global sporting event for disabled athletes.

Thailand has 77 members of its paralympic team competing in 14 events, and coverage includes a full programme of highlights and replays.

Pratthana Leelapanang, chief consumer business officer at Advanced Info Service (AIS), said live coverage of the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games proved popular among Thai viewers for the official broadcaster, especially with Panipak "Nong Tennis" Wongpattanakit gaining a gold medal in taekwondo and Sudaporn "Nong Taew" Seesondee earning a bronze in women's boxing.

Mr Pratthana says AIS wants to be part of Thai sporting success.

Local sports fans were able to cheer on the Thai athletes as well as watch a wide variety of sports on offer at the Olympics.

"This underscores AIS's role in delivering great content featuring world-class sport. We want to be part of Thai sporting success," said Mr Pratthana.

"Televising the Tokyo 2020 Paralympic Games means offering full coverage of this global festival of sport for the disabled to the Thai public through AIS Play."

AIS Play allocated seven sports channels for Thai viewers to watch live, with coverage starting with the opening ceremonies on Tueaday at 6pm, running until Sept 5.
