The owner of a North Wales airport wants to buy a microlight aircraft business out of administration and relocate the company to the region.
Hugh Evans, who owns Caernarfon Airport with business partner Roy Steptoe, is in negotiations with the administrators of P&M Aviation, based in Wiltshire. The business went into administration last month after more than 25 years.
He told Business Live that if his bid for the business is successful he plans to relocate work to the Gwynedd airfield - creating up to 200 jobs in the area.
Administrators Milsted Langdon have been asked to comment.
Mr Evans said: "We hope to close this deal in the next two weeks and start moving work up to North Wales in the next month.
"We are bidding to secure these jobs in the UK ahead of competition around the world. We plan to have all the jobs in Caernarfon - so this would be very good news for the economy."
He said there were existing units at the airport for the work to be carried out if the bid was successful and that while some workers may relocate there would be a large number of new roles available.
