Airlines Jet2, Ryanair, EasyJet and British Airways reveal passenger rules after July 19

Boris Johnson has said face mask rules on transport will be relaxed from July 19 - but now the airlines have spoken about the changes.

The Prime Minister announced his intention to lift lockdown restrictions from July 19 in a Downing Street press conference at 5pm on Monday.

Ministers are due to set out plans soon to allow travellers from England who have had two jabs of a Covid-19 vaccine to visit amber-list countries without having to quarantine on their return.

And before that, airlines have reacted to the announcement that lockdown will end - with the next green list review in mid-July.

Germany, meanwhile, has lifted Covid travel restrictions for double-jabbed Brits, giving a boost to holidaymakers, reports BirminghamLive.

Among the new rules is the lifting of the face mask mandate for Brits. And airlines have responded to that with their own policies.

Ryanair

Ryanair said in a statement: "In order to protect the health of our customers and crew, the use of face masks will still be mandatory across all Ryanair flights, regardless of the departing/destination country."

Easyjet

The airline said in a statement to PA: "At present there are no changes to easyJet's onboard mask policy and we will continue to keep this under review.

"We continue to be guided by our inhouse medical adviser and a number of key industry governing bodies that airlines follow including the WHO , Icao, Easa, the European Centre for Disease Prevention and Control and public health authorities across Europe, and at present their guidance around the wearing of masks onboard remains unchanged."

Jet2

Jet2.com said there will be no change to its face coverings policy, adding: "The health and safety of our customers and colleagues will always be our number one priority.

"We will continue to follow the current CAA guidelines and regulations, including the use of face masks at our airports and onboard our flights."

British Airways

British Airways has also not changed its face mask rules and said "we keep our policies under constant review".
