Air India has advised passengers travelling to and from Mumbai and Delhi to check their flight status online before heading to the airport, citing adverse weather conditions that may affect flight operations at the two cities.
In a post on X, the airline said select flights across its network could be impacted and asked passengers to check the latest status on its website before starting their journey to the airport.

The advisory comes as both cities deal with active monsoon weather. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has placed Mumbai under a red alert for Sunday, forecasting heavy to very heavy rainfall across the city and suburbs, with isolated areas likely to see extremely heavy showers. The weather department has said the rain activity is expected to continue over the next 24 hours, raising the risk of waterlogging and traffic congestion in low-lying parts of the city.
In Delhi, the IMD has issued a yellow alert, warning of light to moderate rain accompanied by thunderstorms, lightning and gusty winds across the capital. Rain activity is expected to be fairly widespread, covering most parts of the city. During thunderstorms, winds are expected to blow at 30-40 kmph, with gusts touching 50 kmph in some areas.
Akasa Air also issued a similar advisory, saying certain flights across its network had been impacted due to severe weather conditions in Delhi. The airline said the situation was beyond its control and asked passengers to check their flight status online before starting their journey to the airport, adding that its teams remained available to assist affected travellers.
According to airport sources, 15 flights, comprising 10 domestic and 5 international services, were diverted to Jaipur and Lucknow on account of heavy rain and strong winds at Delhi airport, ANI reported.
Weather-related disruptions, including delays, diversions and gate changes, are common during the monsoon months at both airports. Airlines typically issue such advisories as a precautionary measure so passengers can verify flight timings before leaving for the airport.
