Airlines are set to keep face mask policies in place for passengers from July 19, the date when England's restrictions are due to be eased including the legal order to wear a face mask indoors.
Boris Johnson announced that from July 19 it would no longer be a legal requirement to wear a face mask indoors, although he urged the public to continue covering their faces in "crowded and enclosed spaces".
In Scotland, restrictions are due to ease from the same date, although face mask rules will remain mandatory. In Wales, face coverings will also still need to be worn in certain settings.
As travel reopens, Brits are able to go on holidays abroad - but there will be face mask rules in place with certain airlines.
We take a look at the major airlines' rules on face masks and coverings from July 19.
Ryanair
It is mandatory for Ryanair passengers to wear a face mask or covering both in the airport and on board their flight. Ryanair cabin crew are also required to wear face masks.

easyJet
Face masks are mandatory for all passengers aged six years and older, as well as easyJet crew. The airline also requires passengers to wear face masks at the airport, at the gate when boarding the aircraft, and throughout the flight.
Those who are exempt will be required to show a doctor's letter or medical certificate as proof.
easyJet has confirmed on its website that "Despite the UK Government’s change in restrictions on masks where they are now not mandatory from July 19th, easyJet will continue with our current mask policy (i.e. masks must be worn on all flights, etc)."

TUI
TUI requires all passengers over six years old to wear a face mask, which includes while sleeping. Passengers who are fully vaccinated against Covid will still be required to wear a face mask.
Those who can't wear a mask for health reasons are asked to download a government exemption card.

Jet2
Jet2 requires all passengers aged six years and over to wear face masks at the airport and onboard all flights.
The airline has said that those who are unable to wear a mask will need to get in touch with the airline in advance.
If you turn up without a face mask, which hasn't been pre-agreed with the airline, you won't be able to board the flight.

British Airways
British Airways requires passengers to wear face masks at all times, both in the airport and onboard flights. The airline states on its website that "as a guide one mask lasts four hours so please bring enough for your journey".

Virgin Atlantic
Passengers are required to wear masks at all times, including at the airport. All Virgin staff and cabin crew will also be required to wear face masks.

Wizz Air
Wizz Air says it is compulsory to wear face masks on board its flights, which applies to both passengers and crew. The airline recommends that for flights over four hours that passengers bring multiple face masks.
The company adds that "other protective gear is recommended and appreciated".
