Airline worker screams 'I'm not your servant' at demanding passenger in row over sandwich

An airline worker blasted a demanding passenger and screamed "I'm not your servant" at them during a mid-air row. The woman clapped back at the customer who made some of her colleagues cry.

The heated exchange took place as the flight travelled from Istanbul to Delhi, when a member of staff at Indian airline, IndiGo, reportedly lost her cool at a passenger, reports the Daily Star. In a viral video, the woman was heard demanding the customer stop "pointing your finger at me and yelling at me, my crew is crying because of you".

The MailOnline reports that the row was sparked after the man asked for a sandwich from one of the cabin crew members. He was told that they would check if one was available before he began shouting at staff.

The IndiGo staff member could be heard saying: "Please try to understand, there is a cart and counted meals are uplifted [on the plane]. We can only serve what [is on board]." The man is then heard interrupting her, asking: "Why are you yelling?"

The crew member clapped back and responded: "Because you are yelling at us. I am so sorry sir but you do not talk to the crew like that. I am peacefully listening to you with all due respect, but you have to respect the crew as well."

The flight attendant accused the man of 'pointing fingers' (Twitter)

A loud argument then ensued, during which the passenger shouted: "Shut up." In response, the woman shouted: "You shut up, I'm sorry you cannot talk to me like that... I'm an employee, I'm not your servant."

The heated exchange between the duo then came to an abrupt end when the woman turned around. As the employee did, so she also pulled a mask over her face.

A spokesperson for the airline said: "We are aware of the incident that took place on flight 6E 12 from Istanbul to Delhi on December 16, 2022. The issue was related to meals chosen by certain passengers traveling via a codeshare connection.

"IndiGo is cognisant of the needs of its customers and it is our constant endeavour to provide a courteous and hassle-free experience to our customers. We are looking into the incident and would like to assure that customers' comfort has always been our top priority. We are committed to providing the best experience at all times."
