Airline worker left sickened after discovering whole snake head in SunExpress meal

A airline worker was left repulsed after making a horrifying discovery of a whole snake head in a Sun Express meal.

The employee was mid-flight and was about to eat when when they are said to have made the horror find.

In a stomach-turning moment, which reportedly happened on a SunExpress flight between Turkey and Germany claims flying blog One Mile at a Time.

The crew were eating their food when among the potato and vegetables one of the employees found the head.

Images were shared on video that was picked up by Turkish news site Gazete Duvar.

SunExpress told press in Turkey the incident was “absolutely unacceptable”.

The airline announced it has since paused its contract with the food supplier as a probe was launched.

In a statement the airline said: "We would like to inform you that the allegations and shares in the press regarding in-flight food service are absolutely unacceptable and a detailed investigation has been initiated on the subject.”

The company who supplied the food, however, has strongly denied it could have come from their premises.

Food provider Sancak Inflight Services said: “We did not use any of the foreign objects that were supposedly in the food when cooking (due to the technical and thermal conditions used in the in-flight catering facilities).”

The Mirror reported in 2019 how a passenger on a British Airways flight slammed the airline for the 'truly pathetic' vegetarian option she was served on her journey from Vancouver to London Heathrow.

Posting a picture to Twitter of the uninspiring meal, Carolyn Saunders wrote: "British Airways this is the sad vegetarian meal you saw fit to give me on a long YVR-LHR flight

"Would you eat this? Would anyone? Plain tofu with plain rice and a baby corn cob from a tin?

"Why do you think vegetarians don’t like food? Please do better.”

British Airways then admitted the meal looked a "little sad" and asked which meal Carolyn had requested, before saying they'll "make sure this is fed back to our catering team".

After being contacted by The Mirror, it said: "We pride ourselves on the quality of the meals we offer on board, and have heavily invested in our catering, in all cabins.

"Customers can pre-order from 14 special meals, including vegetarian, vegan, gluten free, kosher, low calorie, and low salt options.

"We are in touch with our customer and are investigating with our supplier."
