Airline TUI cancels flights to Morocco due to key change

Holiday operator TUI has cancelled flights through October to a popular holiday destination.

The airline said flights to Morocco had to be cancelled due to a change in regulation that affects flights to the country from the UK.

Flights to Marrakech and Agadir have been cancelled to the end of the month with customers being contacted about their options.

In a statement, TUI said: "The Moroccan Government has notified us of a change in regulation that affects flights from the UK to Morocco from 21 October.

"As a result, we have unfortunately had to cancel flights to Marrakech and Agadir up to and including 31 October 2021.

"We are contacting customers in departure date order to discuss their options, which include amending to another destination or a full refund.

"We have received permission from the Moroccan authorities to operate flights back to the UK until 31 October, so customers will be returning on their original flight as planned.

"We would like to thank our customers for their patience and understanding during this time."
