Airdrieonians duo join Monklands rivals Albion Rovers on loan

Airdrioenians winger Joseph Moore and defender Joshua Burke have joined Monklands rivals Albion Rovers on loan until January.

The 19-year-olds will be looking to gain experience in League Two under Rovers boss Brian Reid.

And Airdrie's director of football, Stuart Millar, told airdriefc.com: “It’s a great opportunity for both Joseph and Joshua to develop and come back to us in January with more experience and game time.

“We’re pleased that the boys will be working in a good environment, with an excellent manager and coaches.”

Burke played against his parent club in a friendly last midweek, while Moore could make his Rovers debut when the Cliftonhill side host Ayr United - Brian Reid's former club - in their Betfred Cup Group opener tomorrow night.

League One Airdrie kick-off their cup campaign at home to Alloa on Wednesday night.
