Airdrie woman threw garden furniture around during unwelcome house visit

A WOMAN went to a house “uninvited” and began throwing around garden furniture”.

Maxine Devine, 43, of Craigneuk Avenue, Airdrie, committed the offence on June 22 at a house in nearby Sycamore Drive.

Airdrie Sheriff Court heard earlier this month from prosecutor Roslyn O’Hara how Devine behaved in a threatening or abusive manner likely to cause a reasonable person to suffer fear or alarm.

Devine attended the house uninvited, explained the fiscal, and was repeatedly making offensive remarks and shouting and swearing.

She went on to throw items of garden furniture around and refused to leave.

The fiscal added: “Police were called and when they arrived she struggled with them, kicked out and damaged a police car.”

At the time of the offence, Devine was on bail from Airdrie Sheriff Court, imposed on her on May 17.

During Devine’s appearance in the dock, her defence lawyer, Darren Khorasani, told the court: “She has engaged well on supervision and her unpaid work.”

Sheriff Fergus Thomson continued the case for a further community payback review on January 13.
