Airdrie v Motherwell derby is stand out clash in Premier Sports Cup group stages

A Lanarkshire derby clash between Airdrie and Motherwell is the stand-out fixture in the new Premier Sports Cup group stages.

The group F clash takes place at New Broomfield on Wednesday, July 20, and is live on Premier Sports.

But there is plenty of intrigue for all the Lanarkshire clubs involved in the competition.

First up on Friday, July 9, is Hamilton Accies' first clash as they travel to League Two side Edinburgh City in Group E.

Albion Rovers are at home to Ayr United the following day, while Airdrie host Annan Athletic and Lowland League side East Kilbride kick-off at K-Park against Championship newcomers Kilmarnock in Group G.

League Two champions Queen's Park travel to Queen of the South on July 10.

Midweek clashes on July 13 have Albion Rovers at Falkirk in Group E, while Motherwell are at Queen's Park on Wednesday, July 14 in Group F, which is also on Premier Sports.

In Group G, Clyde host Stranraer, while East Kilbride are at Morton.

Saturday, July 17 sees Albion Rovers host Edinburgh City and Accies travel to Falkirk in Group E, while Motherwell host Queen of the South and Airdrie travel to Queen's Park in Group F.

Clyde host Kilmarnock and East Kilbride travel to Stranraer in Group G.

Airdrie host Motherwell for that clash on Wednesday, July 20, while Hamilton Accies entertain Ayr United and K-Park welcomes the clash between East Kilbride and Clyde in Group G.

The final round of games on Saturday, July 24 sees Accies host Albion Rovers, Motherwell entertain Annan, while Airdrie are at Queen of the South and Morton visit Clyde.

Friday, July 9: Edinburgh City v Hamilton Accies.

Saturday, July 10: Albion Rovers v Ayr United; Airdrie v Annan Athletic; Queen of the South v Queen's Park; East Kilbride v Kilmarnock.

Tuesday, July 13: Falkirk v Albion Rovers; Clyde v Stranraer; Morton v East Kilbride.

Wednesday, July 14: Queen's Park v Motherwell.

Saturday, July 24: Hamilton Accies v Albion Rovers; Motherwell v Annan Athletic; Queen of the South v Airdrie; Morton v Clyde.
