Airdrie striker Ally Roy says he has 'unfinished business' as he signs new deal

Striker Ally Roy says he has "unfinished business" at Airdrie, and signed an extension that will keep him at New Broomfield until the end of season 2020-21.

Northern Ireland under-21 striker Roy signed from Partick Thistle last summer, scoring five times last term.

Roy, 23, told Airdrie's website: "I’m buzzing to be staying for next season, as the way last season finished makes us feel like we have unfinished business - both as a team and on a personal note.

"There are some great people in and around the club, so I’m looking forward to getting back together with all the boys and continuing to give our best for each other and for Airdrie.”

Director of Football Stuart Millar said: "Ally had a brilliant start to life at the club, scoring three times in last season’s Betfred Cup group and deservedly picking up the Player of the Month award.

"He was unfortunate in the sense that his chances became limited as the season went on due to the form of Callum Smith and the goal-scoring exploits of Dale Carrick and Calum Gallagher.

“That doesn’t change the fact that Ally is a young guy with a lot of potential, and we’re confident he will go on to fulfil that potential in his second season.”
