Airdrie boss Ian Murray says their proud record against Falkirk will count for nothing on Saturday when Paul Sheerin brings his Bairns side to New Broomfield.
The Diamonds are undefeated against Falkirk in the last two seasons, but Murray says both sides have made huge changes since last term, an d expects a tight game in front of a bumper crowd.
Airdrie go into the clash on the back of a 2-2 draw at Dumbarton, with Sam Wardrop suspended following his controversial red card, which led to the hosts fighting back to snatch a point, while Falkirk beat Peterhead 2-1.
Murray said: “Falkirk have got off to a good start.
“I watched their game back on Saturday and they did very well, played well, moved the ball well, similar to us.
“It sets up a good game, and I would imagine it’s going to be a tight one.
“We’ve met them a lot over the last two or three years and they’ve been entertaining games.
“Falkirk will travel in numbers as well, which is great, and hopefully our guys come out as well and support the team.

“It’s early on in the season, of course, and only our second home game, but it’s set up to be a good one, that’s for sure.
“We’ve not lost to Falkirk, they’ve been limited to very few points against us, but you can look on it in two ways.
“It’s great having that sort of two or three years’ record over them, but this season it’s a new team, new players, so it’s a completely different ball-game now.
“We live in the moment, and that’s on Saturday.”
Airdrie added to their squad last week with the signing of striker Callum Smith from Hamilton Accies, who left in search of more regular firs-team football, and made his debut at Dumbarton.
Murray says it was a protracted transfer, but is pleased to have got it over the line.
He said: “I’m very happy; these things take time, we had to wait on Hamilton as well bringing in a player – it’s not just a case of going out and getting him.
“We had to weigh everything up, and when good players come around we do our best to get them, but we can’t do what we can’t do, it’s as simple as that.”
