Airdrie's Anton becoming one of the favourites to win Love Island

After a tough start on Love Island, and avoiding eviction more than once – Airdrie Lothario Anton Danyluk is becoming a popular figure, so much so his odds to be top male have been slashed.

The 24-year-old Gym owner has been shot down more than once and is currently coupled up with Cornish surfer Lucie Donlan, but it is a couple of convenience as they got together to make sure they stayed in the Villa.

But the latest vote saw Anton and Lucie claim a place in the top-three – beating out established couples Curtis & Amy, Anna & Jordan and Danny & Arabella – who were split up as she was voted out by house-mates.

Anton will have a big chance in the coming days to find the lady of his dreams as Casa Amor is opening up – the second villa, which sees the current contestants split into two groups – boys and girls – and live with a whole new batch of contestants as 12 new Islanders arrive.

The public clearly feel Anton has a real chance of still doing well in the villa, as he is now just 5/1 to be top male, only behind favourite Michael Griffiths, who is 6/5, and Tommy Fury at 7/4.

Oddsmonkey spokesperson Peter Watton said: “Anton was firm favourite to be first male voted out, as he struggled to find a girl, and even though he is still not in a loving couple – the public now think he is a real contender, and money is coming in for him.

“He has added over half-a-million followers on Instagram since he went in, which only highlights his popularity, and if he takes a liking to one of the new girls, then we could very well be looking at the favourite very soon.”
