Airdrie reveal fan fundraising scheme after being 'inundated' with financial support offers during lockdown

Airdrieonians have opened up a route for fans donations to help the club with the SPFL in lockdown.

The 'Club 1924' scheme, named after the year of the Diamonds' Scottish Cup win, offers fans the chance to donate regularly in exchange for rewards.

The joint venture between the club and the Airdrie Community Trust will also offer a discount to members for future season tickets.

The £20-a-month donation came after offers to help the club with the League One season on hold during the coronavirus outbreak.

A club statement read: "We are delighted to announce the launch of our new rewards scheme, Club 1924.

"The club have been inundated with requests to offer financial assistance while football remains in lockdown due to the coronavirus pandemic.

"We are delighted to launch this new rewards scheme to give something back to those who wish to provide assistance in these difficult times."
