Airdrie MP Neil Gray has his hands full following the arrival of two bouncing bundles of joy.
Mr Gray and wife Karlie welcomed identical twin daughters Emmie Grace and Freya Ines on September 9, respectively weighing in at 5lb 7.5oz and 4lb 15oz.
The delighted parliamentarian told the Advertiser: “It was a bit of a shock to find out that my wife was expecting not just twins but identical twins!
“She and the girls are all doing brilliantly, and their big sister and brother are over the moon with their new siblings.”
The MP added: “I will be taking a few weeks away from the office but if anyone needs assistance, my fantastic team will be able to take things forward on my behalf and I’ll be in regular contact.”
Meanwhile, Mr Gray has also been reselected as the SNP’s candidate for Airdrie & Shotts for a general election.
He said: “The local electorate have twice voted for me to represent them and I really want to make it three as I have so much more to give.

“I have a good understanding of what matters to folk here, having worked in the area for more than 10 years – the fight for Monklands Hospital to stay local is always on my work list, as is the problem of fly-tipping and litter.
