Airdrie man marries mum of his children on 10th anniversary of their engagement

The couple

Alan Forbes, from Airdrie, works as a delivery driver for Amazon and Debbie Galbraith, of Glasgow, was a childcare assistant before leaving to start her family.

When they met

Alan and Debbie were introduced through a mutual friend more than 10 years ago and became engaged a month later; and they tied the knot on the 10th anniversary of their engagement.

The wedding

The ceremony and reception took place at the Dalziel Hotel, Motherwell, on August 30 and was attended by 50 members of their family and friends, with a further 110 guests joining them in the evening to celebrate and dance the night away.

Attire

Debbie wore a beautiful Tu Es Belle design gown from That Special Day bridal in Bathgate, while Alan and his best man and page boys wore the Blue Spirit tartan from Gilt Edged kilt hire, Glasgow.

Honeymoon

The newlyweds travelled to Salou in Spain on a “familymoon” with their children, Courtney and Kayden.

Bridal party

Debbie’s maid of honour was her sister Jackie and bridesmaids were sister Michelle, best friend Nicole Shearer, niece Chloe and sister-in-law Christine Woods; her flower girls were daughter Courtney and Debbie’s niece Chloe. Alan’s best man was best friend Cameron Robertson and page boys were the couple’s son Kayden and nephew Leo.

DJ Kenny Graham and singer Nicholas McDonald who performed the couple’s first dance, followed with dancing to Zander Nation.
