Dylan Easton says Airdrie have picked up a knack for good goals - but he perhaps should have had one from a corner kick.
The number 10 was the key man for manager Ian Murray away to Dumbarton on Sunday, netting from outside the box in the second half to secure a 1-0 win.
It strengthened Airdrie's grip on third place in League One as they eye promotion to the Championship.
The Diamonds won three games in eight days over the Christmas and New Year period against Alloa, Queen's Park and the Sons.
Kerr McInroy and Calum Gallagher both netted fine goals alongside Easton in that run, but he feels he merited another.
His corner at the end of the first half found the net, but a foul on Dumbarton goalkeeper Sam Ramsbottom was spotted by referee Steven Kirkland.
Easton explained: "A lot of their players were surprised by the decision. I took the corner and I had a perfect view of it. The goalkeeper has fumbled it and it's went in the net.
"I spoke to the referee afterwards and he thought it was a foul. It's one of they things so we just had to dig in and get those three points, which we did in the end.
"Thankfully the ball fell to me in the second half and I found the net. We have that in our team. We have that ability to pull off a bit of magic when things aren't going well. All the matters is the three points."
Airdrie are back in action next Saturday against League One's bottom club, East Fife. While they weren't at their best, Easton says the Diamonds displayed another side of themselves at Dumbarton.
He added: "It was a difficult game but we knew it was going to be like that. Dumbarton are well organised and they have a lot of experience in their side. We knew we had to be patient.
"The majority of people who have watched us will think we are a good passing team, and we are.
"But we know that we have that other side to us. The pitch cut up after the first half but we mixed it up."
