Airdrie handed extra tickets for Hearts Scottish Cup clash after initial sell-out

Airdrie fans have bought into the Scottish Cup fever after selling out their allocation for the visit to Hearts.

The League One Diamonds go in as huge underdogs against their Premiership rivals but the fans have rallied behind them selling out 1500 seats in the away end.

Director of football Stuart Millar confirmed the visitors had now been handed an extra 200 tickets.

He heaped praise on the New Broomfield faithful who were travelling through to Edinburgh.

He said: "It's a great turn out from our fans which the players and club really appreciate.

"Hopefully we can make it another memorable match against Hearts!"

Jambos boss Daniel Stendel has wielded the axe and his new-look side will get their first outing tomorrow as he looks to earn his first win as boss.

The rock-bottom Premiership side have only won two games all season at home  against League Two strugglers Stenhousemuir and the other against relegation rivals St Mirren.

In contast, Ian Murray's Airdrie go into the clash full of confidence as they battle for promotion in League One.
