Airdrie defender Josh Kerr hopes fans see best of him as he signs new deal

Defender Josh Kerr hopes fans get to see the best of him, after signing a new deal at Airdrie.

The 22-year-old put pen to paper on a deal that keeps him at the Diamonds until the end of next season, and is the third to re-sign at the club this week.

Former Brighton and Celtic defender Kerr told Airdrie's website: "I’m delighted to be staying as I feel that I was getting into my stride as last season finished up, and fans were starting to see the best of me.

"The whole squad feel like we have unfinished business with the way the league ended when we were still in with a chance. We believe we can take the team to the next level through promotion.”

Director of football Stuart Millar said: "We’re aware that we must improve in certain areas, but the squad did very well last season and it’s great to get more of them signed up.

"Josh is a talented player who has been at massive clubs, and he showed that with some magnificent performances toward the end of the season.

"He's another young player with huge ability and potential, as well as versatility to play in defence and midfield, which is something the manager was keen to explore further.”
