Airdrie cup clash is in doubt amid Covid chaos

Airdrie's SPFL Trust Trophy clash with Queen's Park on Friday night is in doubt as the club continue to deal with a Covid outbreak.

The Diamonds - who recorded five positive cases ahead of their clash at Peterhead on August 21, but still won the game 3-2 - are due to host the League One leaders in the second round of the Challenge Cup competition at New Broomfield.

Airdrie were granted a postponement of their home clash against Alloa on Saturday as they continue to battle against the virus.

But as things stand, the club are unsure when they will be able to return to training, which has placed a major question mark over the clash on Friday.

The club has told Lanarkshire Live Sport they won't be commenting on the matter until the players and staff who are infected or isolating have returned to work.
