Airdrie brute who attacked two men and threatened ex breaches court order

A brute from Craigneuk who attacked two men and threatened his ex-partner – during two separate incidents – has breached his court order.

David Gilchrist shouted, swore and “uttered a threat” to the stricken woman on April 14 last year.

He then banged on, kicked and threw a mobile phone at the door of a property on Gartlea’s Monkland Street.

Ten days later, Gilchrist, 31, launched a physical and verbal tirade towards two males on Tollbrae Avenue, Airdrie.

He repeatedly threw a mobile phone at one of the men before trying to punch him on the head.

Gilchrist then placed him in a headlock and scratched and bit him on the body.

Gilchrist punched the second male on the head and pushed him on the body, causing him to fall to the ground.

The troubled Dunrobin Road resident owned up to all three incidents at Airdrie Sheriff Court and was sentenced to a community payback order back on July 25.

Gilchrist made his way back to court earlier this month, when he admitted breaching the order.

Presiding sheriff, Frank Pieri, was keen to give Gilchrist a further chance to show he could engage with the court, though, and continued matters until July 31 for a “community payback order review and community payback order progress report”.
