Airdrie manager Ian Murray says continued results will be key in the League One title race - but Covid could have its say too.
The Diamonds face Dumbarton today and sit third in the league, a promotion play-off spot. They are eight points off top side Cove Rangers with a game in hand while they sit one win off Montrose in second.
Murray's men have won five of their last seven games in all competitions and the Airdrie boss says it bodes well for their promotion hopes after beating Alloa and Queen's Park in the last week.
But they won't look too far ahead of themselves: "Results do build momentum. When you win a game, you want another one really soon after it.
"We just need to make sure we're recovering them well now.
"All of us in the top four are trying to create a gap so we are in the promotion play-off spots as a minimum.
"But it's very tight. We aren't looking too far ahead."
After falling short in the title race and Championship promotion play-off final last season, Murray knows how big consistent results can be.
But with Covid spreading across the country and squads being depleted as a consequence, the Diamonds manager says the virus could become a factor.
Murray added: "We are comfortable at the moment but I know how quickly things can change. We only have to look to ourselves last season.
"It only takes a team to go on a run and ourselves not to. You end up getting caught up really quickly. The biggest thing for us is to keep winning.
"We need to pick up as many points as we can and put pressure on those around us.
"We can't dictate or influence what happens elsewhere and we must be mindful that Covid is going around. Things can change in one day."
