The final 10 groups in with a chance of winning a slice of £20,000 cash in this year’s Airbus Community Awards have been revealed.

Thousands of votes have been cast by readers over the past few weeks in the hope that their favourite Community group will win.

The votes have been counted and the 10 groups who received the most votes have been announced. They are in the running to receive one of the 10 cash prizes of between £1,000 and £7,000.

The top 10 groups are:

  • 1 ST Yate Scout Group
  • Baby Bank Network
  • Bourne Family Project
  • Bristol BMX Club
  • HorseWorld Trust
  • Incredible Me
  • Keynsham District Guides
  • St Michael’s Primary School PTFA
  • Suicide Prevention Bristol
  • The Ben Saunders Foundation

All of the shortlisted projects have a theme of youth, education, environment and inclusivity.

Those in the final 10 will be invited to attend a prize giving ceremony hosted by Airbus this month where they will learn how much they have won.

There is a first prize of £7,000, a second prize of £4,000, a third prize of £2,000 and seven runner-up prizes of £1,000.

Airbus Community Engagement Manager Hannah Hammond said: "This year’s Airbus Community Awards has seen lots of new groups enter, from sports groups, to support groups.

"A huge thank you to all of the groups who entered and to those who have voted and determined the winners. Congratulations and good luck to the final 10 groups."
