Air shows, activities held to celebrate Children's Day

Children thronged the air force’s Wing 6 at Don Mueang Airport to catch a glimpse of airshows on Saturday as activities to celebrate Children’s Day were in full swing across the country.

The atmosphere at Don Mueang airport was lively as children flocked to the airport to view Gripen fighters flying over Bangkok sky.

Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha presided over the official opening ceremony of  Children’s Day at the Education Ministry on Saturday morning.  He gave a speech to over 300 representatives of children and youths.

An exhibition was held at the ministry to celebrate the special day, with children taking part in various activities.

At Parliament, many children, led by parents, enjoyed activities being held for them. The conference hall of the parliament and the museum inside were opened for children to view. A variety of games and shows were organised. Food and drinks were given for free to all participants.

In the provinces across the country, many activities to celebrate Children's Day were held on Saturday.

The incumbent prime minister helps a future one try the top seat at Government House on Saturday.
