Air New Zealand take aim at Ireland fans in 'safety' video for crunch World Cup quarter-final

We're less than two days away from what could be one of the biggest game in Ireland's history on Saturday morning when Joe Schmidt's men collide with the All Blacks.

When New Zealand came to the Aviva Stadium just eleven months ago, it was billed as the world's two top sides coming face to face to lay down a marker.

And that's exactly what Ireland did.

But the road to this World Cup quarter-final has been tough on outgoing boss Schmidt, but that won't matter for much in Japan as Ireland face the Haka once again.

The build-up is gaining momentum this week and it's New Zealand's national airline, not Steve Hansen, that's taken the first decisive dig at the Irish.

The airline posted a 'safety' video for Irish fans during the big game, offering tips for when, they predict, New Zealand pull away.

"Having won two out of the last three games, some Irish supporters may be expecting a pleasant journey. However, we happen to think you might be in for some upcoming turbulence," the video says.

They then offer advice for fans during the Haka, stowing away phones and other devices to avoid launching them at TV screens, and doing the same with any children to protect them from "colourful" language

"Should the game go down to the wire, an oxygen mask will automatically drop down. Otherwise, please remain seated until your disappointment has come to a complete halt," the video added.

Aer Lingus were quick to reply though, and they hit back at the jibe claiming that they're 'ready for take-off'.

The airline said: "Thanks for your concern, but two of our last three flights have actually been very enjoyable! Our crew is briefed, checklist complete and we're ready for take-off."
