An Air India jet from Ahmedabad to London has been cancelled - less than a week after a plane on the same Gatwick-bound route crashed killing at least 270.
An airline spokesman said it was “due to the unavailability of the aircraft, resulting from airspace restrictions and additional precautionary checks, leading to longer than usual turnaround of aircraft”.
Earlier, Indian-English language channel CNN News18 said Flight 159, which arrived from Delhi, had been grounded because of “technical issues”.
It follows a series of scares since Flight AI171 lost altitude and ploughed into a building moments after take-off, killing all but one of the 242 passengers and crew members on Thursday.
Doctors say 270 bodies have been recovered as officials try to establish how many died on the ground. The sole survivor of the tragedy, Vishwash Kumar Ramesh, 40, is a Briton.
On Monday, a New Delhi-bound Air India Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner flight returned to its origin of Hong Kong as a precautionary measure.

Hours earlier, a British Airways Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner from Heathrow to India had to turn around mid-air when it suffered a “technical issue”.
The latest Air India plane was also a Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner.

It was due to depart from Ahmedabad’s Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Airport at 1.10pm local time (8.40am GMT), landing in Gatwick Airport at 6.25pm UK time.
Air India's website shows the flight was initially delayed by one hour and 50 minutes before being cancelled.
As a result, passengers have been left stranded at the airport. The next flight from Ahmedabad to London is scheduled for 11.40am local time (7.10am GMT) on Wednesday.

The Air India spokesperson said passengers would be provided with hotel accommodation and full refunds or an alternative flight to their destination.
There were also reports on social media that Air India Flight AI180 from San Francisco to Mumbai suffered a “technical” problems on Tuesday resulting in passengers getting off.
