Air France to increase flights from UK airports when travel restrictions are relaxed

Air France is set to increase frequency of flights to and from five UK airports in anticipation of quarantine rules being relaxed.

The French flag carrier will operate from its hub at Paris Charles de Gaulle (Paris CDG) airport to Birmingham, Edinburgh, London Heathrow, Manchester and Newcastle from next month.

It currently operates a daily service from both London Heathrow and Manchester.

Three flights a day are scheduled to link London Heathrow with Paris from July 13, complimented by a twice daily service from Manchester.

Benedicte Duval, general manager for UK & Ireland said, “After this challenging period, we are delighted to be in a position to resume flights from almost all of our UK stations this summer and we look forward to once again connecting UK business and leisure passengers with our worldwide network via Paris CDG."

In line with UK government guidelines, Air France requires customers to wear a surgical mask throughout their journey.

This is in addition to a range of measures implemented by Air France in response to the COVID-19 health crisis, which include temperature checks for passengers, social distancing at airports, regular deep-cleaning of aircraft and adapting in-flight service.

In addition, the air in the aircraft cabin will be renewed every three minutes through a recycling system identical to those used in hospital operating theatres.
