Air ambulance rushes to West Lothian crash as road closed and one rushed to hospital

A crash between a lorry and a van in West Lothian has seen road closures and one hospitalised this morning.

A man was rushed to hospital by air ambulance after the collision next to the Tesco distribution centre on Carnegie Road.

Locals have taken to Livingston community Facebook groups to warn others - although traffic is apparently not overly congested at present despite the closure of Carnegie Road.

An image shared online also shows a fire engine in attendance.

A spokesman for Police Scotland has said: "Police Scotland was made aware of a road crash involving a van and a lorry on Carnegie Road in Livingston shortly before 7am on Tuesday, 7 July, 2020.

"One man has been taken to hospital and the road remains closed."

Edinburgh Live has contacted Scottish Fire and Rescue services for comment.
