Air ambulance races to Scots street after men plunge from scaffolding

Emergency crews, including an air ambulance, descended on a Scots street after two men plunged from scaffolding.

Police, fire crews and ambulances were called to Merchant Street in Peterhead, Aberdeenshire, after the horror incident at 3pm today.

A picture of the scene online shows police having taped off part of the street with firefighters and paramedics also visible.

One person was taken to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary by road.

The condition of the men is currently unknown.

A Scottish Ambulance Service spokesperson said: “We received a call at 14:57 to attend an incident on Merchant Street, Peterhead.

"An ambulance, two of our specialist operation response teams and our air ambulance were dispatched to the scene and one patient was transported by road to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary"

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “We received report of two men having fallen from scaffolding on Merchant Street in Peterhead around 3pm on Wednesday, 18 August, 2021.

"Emergency services are currently in attendance.”
