Air ambulance lands in town after reports of 'medical emergency'

An air ambulance has landed in a market town following reports of a 'medical emergency'.

People in the area say the Lincs and Notts Air Ambulance AgustaWestland 169 helicopter landed in a field near Riverside Park, Newark, just after midday on Tuesday, June 23.

The helicopter was seen circling in the area near the Aldi supermarket and St Marks Place before touching down.

A spokeswoman for East Midlands Ambulance Service said: "We received a call at 12.45pm today, June 23, to Mather Road, Newark, to assist with a medical emergency.

"We sent a paramedic in an ambulance car, a crewed ambulance and the air ambulance. We transported one patient to Queen's Medical Centre via land ambulance."

Nottinghamshire Police confirmed it had no reports of an incident in the area.
