Air ambulance lands at ‘serious’ Hanham car crash

Two people have been taken to hospital for treatment after a "serious" car accident on Hanham High Street in Bristol this afternoon (Monday, October 25).

The ambulance service said in a statement that they were called at 2:14pm to a “serious road traffic collision on the A431 in the Hanham area of Bristol”.

Avon and Somerset Police were called shortly afterwards. Officers closed the major road at Aldemoor Way and Greenbank Road.

The crash involved two vehicles. In a statement, South West Ambulance Service said that two people were treated at the scene and were then taken to hospital.

Police have put diversions in place in the area (Bristol Live)

Avon and Somerset Police put road closures in place, and diversions remain in place in the area as recovery work takes place.

The full statement from South West Ambulance Service says: “We were called at 2.04pm about a serious road traffic collision on the A431 in the Hanham area of Bristol.

“We sent land and air ambulance crews to attend the incident.

“We treated two patients at the scene and transported them to hospital by land for further care.

In a statement earlier today, Avon and Somerset Police said: “We were called at 2.13pm following a two-vehicle collision on the A431 (Stonehill) in Hanham.

“Paramedics are currently at the scene. The road is currently closed at junction of Aldermoor Way and Greenbank Road in Hanham.”
