Air ambulance lands at medical emergency in Briton Ferry, Neath

One person was taken to hospital for treatment after a medical emergency in Briton Ferry on Thursday November 3. Emergency services attended an address on Ritson Street, Neath after receiving reports of a medical emergency at a house on the street at around midday on Thursday.

Pictures from the scene showed a number of ambulance vehicles parked on the street while an air ambulance also landed on the nearby Victoria Park playing fields. Both crews from Welsh Ambulance Services and the Wales Air Ambulance confirmed they attended for almost an hour and that one person was taken by road to Morriston Hospital, Swansea for further treatment.

Two ambulance vehicles also attended the scene (Media Wales)

A Welsh Ambulance Service spokesperson said: "We were called on November 3 shortly before 12pm to reports of a medical emergency in a residential property on Ritson Street, Neath. We sent one rapid response vehicle, one emergency ambulance and a duty operations manager to the scene, where we were supported by the Wales Air Ambulance. One person was taken by road to Morriston Hospital for further treatment.”

A Wales Air Ambulance spokesperson said: "Wales Air Ambulance attended an incident in the Neath area on Thursday afternoon. Our Dafen-based crew were mobile at 12.20pm and arrived at the scene at 12.26pm. Treatment was given at the scene from on-board medics. Our involvement concluded at 1.12pm.
