Air Ambulance deployed as emergency services rush to scene of workplace incident in Galway

Emergency services and gardai have rushed to the scene following an incident that occurred on the Galway Road in Tuam on Tuesday afternoon.

It is understood to have happened in a workplace at around 1.30pm.

A man was airlifted to hospital in the wake of the incident and details around his condition are currently unknown.

In a statement to Galway Beo, gardai confirmed that they were currently at the scene of the incident and that enquiries were ongoing.

A Garda spokesperson said: “Gardai are currently at the scene of a workplace incident that took place at a business premises in Tuam, Co Galway this afternoon, Tuesday 14th December 2021 at approximately 1.30pm.

“A male has been taken to University Hospital Galway via Air Ambulance. Enquiries are ongoing.”
