Biker airlifted to hospital after 'serious' crash on popular mountain road

A serious motorbike crash has closed a popular mountain road in the Brecon Beacons.

Emergency services were called to the crash on the A4069 Black Mountain road in Carmarthenshire on Sunday afternoon.

The crash took place near the popular viewing point and car park on the Llangadog side of the mountain.

A male motorcyclist has been airlifted to University Hospital of Wales in Cardiff with face and arm injuries after his machine left the road, and crashed.

Dyfed-Powys Police have closed the road, and are urging motorists to use an alternative route.

The A4069 runs from Gwaun-Cae-Gurwen to Llangadog, and its twisting route has made it famous as one of the best drives in Wales.

It's known by many as the "Top Gear Road" after the popular TV series filmed there.
