Air Ambulance called to Hartcliffe after 'medical emergency'

Great Western Air Ambulance were called to Bishport Avenue in Hartcliffe yesterday (Mon, June 29) at around 5pm in what is being described by Avon and Somerset Police as a 'medical emergency.'

All emergency services were called to the scene before a patient was treated at the scene and then taken by land ambulance to hospital.

A spokesperson for Great Western Ambulance Service confirmed they were present at the scene by saying: “Great Western Air Ambulance Charity’s crew were called to an incident at a private address yesterday afternoon just after 5pm.

"They responded with a Critical Care Doctor and two Specialist Paramedics on board, attending to the patient on scene before escorting them to hospital in a land ambulance.”

Avon and Somerset Police were also in attendance in what they have described as a 'medical emergency.'

A spokesperson for the Force said: "Police were called just after 5.45pm to assist ambulance crews dealing with a medical emergency in Bishport Avenue, Hartcliffe due to the number of members of public in the area."

Fire Crews were also at the location to assist land ambulance crews with the incident.

A spokesperson for South Western Ambulance Service said: “South Western Ambulance Service was called on Monday at 5.05pm about an incident at a private address in Hartcliffe. We sent land ambulance crews, an air ambulance crew and additional personnel to attend the incident.”
