Air ambulance called as armed police respond to attack in Salford

Eyewitnesses said armed police responded after a man was attacked in Salford.

Police were called to Hilton Lane earlier this morning to a report a man had been assaulted.

A spokesperson for GMP said that the man walked away from the incident, and declined medical treatment.

No further details of any injuries are known.

An eyewitness said an air ambulance landed near the scene, off Hilton Lane in Worsley.

They also said firearms officers were among the officers who responded to the incident, which happened at about 10.50am.

A police spokesperson said: "At about 10.50am police were called by a member of the public to a report that a man had been assaulted on Hilton Lane in Worsley.

"Officers attended."
