Air ambulance called and man seriously injured in three car crash

A man was rushed to hospital after a three car crash in Warrington, which saw an air ambulance called to the scene.

Emergency services rushed to Jockey Bridge on Folly Lane at around 10.45am on Monday, March 14 following reports of a crash. Once at the scene Cheshire Police found a Mini Cooper, a Toyota C-HR Hybrid and Range Rover were involved in the incident.

The North West Ambulance Service (NWAS) were also called to the scene as a 'number of people' were reported injured, with one man in his 50s being rushed to Aintree Hospital with serious injuries. An air ambulance was also called.

The road was closed in both directions and motorists were told to avoid the area until it reopened at 1.20pm. Pedestrian access over the bridge was also halted.

A spokesperson for Cheshire Constabulary said: “At 10.46am today, Monday 14 March, police were called to reports of a collision on Jockey bridge, Folly Lane, Warrington. Officers attended the scene and found that the collision involved three vehicles, a Mini Cooper, a Toyota C-HR Hybrid and a Range Rover.

"A number of people have been injured as a result of the incident, although not of the injuries are believed to be life threatening or life changing at this time. One of the casualties has been taken to Aintree Hospital."

A spokesperson for NWAS said: “Two patients have gone to hospital. A man in his 50s suffered serious injuries. Two ambulances, a response vehicle, advanced paramedic and air ambulance all attended the scene.

"Patients conveyed to hospital by road.”
