Air ambulance called after man injured in Shiney Row 'incident'

A man has been taken to hospital following an incident in Shiney Row.

The North East Ambulance Service was called just before 11am following reports a man had been injured.

Crews called the Great North Air Ambulance Service for assistance and they were deployed to the Shiney Row area.

The man was taken to hospital by road.

The circumstances surrounding the incident are yet to be confirmed.

A NEAS spokesperson said: "We were called just before 11am to reports of a man injured in the Shiney Row area.

"We dispatched a double crewed ambulance, one crew from our Hazardous Area Response Team and requested assistance from Great North Air Ambulance Service.

"One male was transported to hospital by road."
